Scenarios Exercise to Anticipate Risks and Strengthen Resilience in the New Normal

Synopsis

International tourism accounted for 4.1% of Singapore’s national GDP in 2017, with a direct contribution of $17.7 billion. The percentage was projected to increase to 4.4% in 2028. Beyond the figures, tourism plays an essential role in reinforcing Singapore’s status as a vibrant global city that is a magnet for capital, businesses and talent. One key assumption behind the success of Singapore’s tourism is that we will always open our international borders.  COVID-19 has proved that our assumptions do not always hold. The ability to question its basic assumptions is crucial for any organisations, especially in times of crisis and uncertainties.

Anie heads the strategic planning team at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Her work focuses on the intersection of the strategic development and planning, and corporate governance of the School including risk management, internal audit, and stakeholder management. In her capacity as the LKY School’s Governing Board Secretary, she oversees the School’s liaison and communication with its key stakeholders. 

Prior to joining the LKY School in 2014, Anie worked in higher education institutions in Singapore. She has had both academic and management experience for more than 15 years, sharpening and deepening expertise in the area of strategic development, corporate governance and planning, public policy and management, integrated risk management, and organisation development.

Anie holds a PhD in Policy and Leadership Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Master of Education from University of Southern Queensland, and Bachelor of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University.

CAAP Focus Group Discussion – Digitalisation for Your Business: Mitigating Cyber Risks for Growth

Synopsis

The Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP)​ has been conducting a series of CAAP events together with industry speakers, with the aim to raise cybersecurity awareness among SMEs. CAAP refers to Cybersecurity Awareness and Advisory Programme​, run by AiSP. The CAAP Focus Group Discussion (FGD) workshop is catered for companies that wish to take the next steps to be cyber-ready for their business needs. The closed-door virtual workshop allows participants to clarify on how they want to address their cyber risks.

David Siah is an avid cyber security board advisor and is actively involved in promoting cyber-security activities in the APAC region. He is currently the Vice President, Channels (APAC, Middle East and Africa) for Trend Micro.

On a voluntary basis, David was previously the Vice-Chairman of the APAC Executive Council of a global Cloud Security certification body headquartered in US from 2014-2019 and is currently the regional executive in charge of the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace & International Studies’ (CSCIS) SEA and Australian chapters. He also volunteers in the executive committees of AiSP and SGTECH.

David was listed as one of APAC’s top 50 Cybersecurity Influencers. He is CCSK (version4) certified and was also part of the working group that drafted the Cloud Outage and Incidence Response Technical Reference.
