Business Continuity Planning Asia Pte Ltd (BCP Asia) is the region’s number one provider of training and consultancy in Business Continuity Management (BCM), Crisis Management, Disaster Recovery and Enterprise Risk Management.

What makes BCP Asia number one?

In May 2012, BCP Asia became the FIRST training and consultancy firm in Asia to be certified in the new international BCM standard – the  ISO22301 : 2012. Also, in 2009, BCP Asia was the FIRST company worldwide to attain dual certification for the British Standard BS25999 : 2007 and the Singapore Standard SS540:2008 in 2009.

Since it was founded in 2000, however, BCP Asia has and continues to reach other significant milestones in its pursuit to promote awareness on and further the growth of BCM in the region.

This is accomplished by providing professionals and businesses with world-class training and consultancy that leads to BCM certifications (BS25999, SS540:2008 or ISO22301 at an organizational level and Certificate of Business Continuity Institute at an individual level). BCP Asia also organizes events such as conferences, seminars and awards to provide platforms and venues where professionals and businesses can strengthen their BCM knowledge and network. RIMAS, the Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore, is a non-profit organisation founded in 1988 and dedicated to advancing the discipline and practice of risk management.

How RIMAS was formed: There was the first risk management conference held in Singapore in 1986, under the sponsorship of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) of America, the oldest and biggest risk management organisation in the world then. This spurred some risk management professionals who attended the conference to hold a forum in 1987 to gauge the reception of forming a similar association in Singapore. The forum was well attended by risk managers, insurance brokers, underwriters and others.

Shortly after the forum, a two-day risk management seminar was organised for the Housing and Development Board (HDB). Encouraging feedback and endorsement received from the participants confirm the need for a risk management association to be formed in Singapore. The Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore (RIMAS) was officially registered on 18 April 1988.


Everyone is a Risk Manager – Everyone in any organization sees herself/himself a risk manager being equipped with risk management knowledge and tools to effectively manage the risks and opportunities associated with the business she/he is in.


To lead and promote risk management in industry, commerce, government and the community.
